On
occasion, I have to build one for myself. This is
one of those guitars. I've always had a thing for
the Ibanez Iceman. At one point, I even owned a '79
PS10.
Here
are some of the details of the body. The woods are
Cherry, Poplar, and Walnut with a deep glossy finish,
through body stringing, and a chamfered front edge.
It has Ibanez V7 and V8 pickups, a single volume knob
and a strat style output on back.
The
neck features these details. A maple neck with a flamed
maple fretboard with a high gloss finish (neck and
fretboard), and a black painted headstock with Venetian,
keystone tuners
There
are a couple finish flaws that I must mention that
don't even show in the pictures. There is some shrinking
in the clearcoat on the face of the headstock. It
just looks like light scratches. No biggie, and there
is a small void in the clear near the neck bolts (see
the picture) where there clearcoat was drawn into
a knot. Also, no biggie, but I have to mention them
so you know it's not absolutely perfect.
This
thing just rails too. It is so much fun to play and
the tone is amazing. It plays like a strat. It has
a 25 1/2 scale. With both pickups selected, it even
sounds like a strat. With a single pickup selected,
it sounds like a Paul but with more bite. Sweet!
